1‑to‑1 football sessions for one, two or three players

Say what the player needs in your own words, like a weaker left foot or looking up before the ball arrives, or pick one aim like passing. Every activity in the plan gives you a job, your effort builds through the session, and the plan tells you when to take a breather.

Free gives you a free session every week for your first two weeks, then 1 new session and 3 drills a month. A 1‑to‑1 counts as one session.

A 1-to-1 is not a small team session

Nobody waits in a queue, and you play in. Each activity says what your job is, such as feeding the ball or defending at walking pace.

Set up

One child and the adult use a 10 metre square with a two metre cone gate. The adult defends at walking pace. Take a breather while retrieving the ball.

Beat the adult at the gate. An example we wrote, drawn by the same player a plan uses. You: defender, walking pace.

Keep a record of each player

With Pro, save the players you coach every week. Each one keeps what they're working on, up to five areas with your view of each and a target, and how their last sessions went. The next plan starts from there.

A saved player is a first name, an age group and your football notes, never a surname, date of birth or photo. Only you can see them, and you can delete one at any time. If Pro ends, you can still read, export and delete every player you saved. Safeguarding

Plan the next one for your player

Pick one, two or three players, say what each one needs, and add the space and kit you have.

1-to-1 questions

How many players counts as a 1-to-1?

One to three. For more than that, plan a team session.

Is saving players free?

No, saving players and their targets is Pro, £39.99 a year or £4.99 a month. Planning a 1-to-1 is in Free. Free gives you a free session every week for your first two weeks, then 1 new session and 3 drills a month.

I'm a parent, not a coach. Can I use it?

Yes. When it asks who's running the session, pick "A parent". The plan then writes its safety lines for a parent, and you can choose to play properly in your own garden.

Football at home with your child

How long should a 1-to-1 be?

Bibs On fills in 45 minutes from U9 and 30 minutes for younger children, and you can change it. Keep goes short and have a drink every ten minutes.

Do I need another adult there?

If a player isn't your own child, keep their parent or carer there or in sight, and don't be alone and out of view with them. A paid coach planning for a child is asked to confirm a parent or second adult will be in sight.

Do players' names go into the plan?

No. Plans say Player 1 and Player 2, and so do shared plans and prints. Saved names stay in your own account.
