Set up

Mark two 11 x 11 yd squares, 3 yd apart, with a cone on each corner. 3 reds on the outside of each square and 1 blue defender in the middle, one ball per square.

Who goes where

  • Reds: 3 in red pinnies, in the square.
  • Blues: 1 in blue pinnies, in the square.
  • The red who loses it swaps with the blue who won it.

How to play

  1. The reds pass it round the square to keep it away from the blues.
  2. When a blue wins it, the red who lost it swaps into the middle.

Coaching points

Say this to start

Keep it away from the blues in the middle. Pass it, then move so you can get it back.

Say while it runs

  1. Show me your best first touch.

Praise it when the ball settles in front of them, not under their feet

  2. Move as soon as you have passed it.

Praise it when nobody is standing still admiring the pass they just made

Ask at the drink Which way did the defender show you?

Five minutes in

Too easy

Two touches each.

Too hard

Make the square bigger.

What are you planning?

Free gives you a practice every week for your first two weeks, then one practice and three drills a month. The team sheet is always free.

Your week

Practice night, game day, and back again

  • Practice night

The practice, sized to who's coming

Run it from your phone at the field, or print it with Pro.

  • Game day

Who plays when, fair minutes for all

Check who came, and the minutes and goalkeepers share out.

Try it free, no account needed

  • After the game

What you saw becomes your next practice

Say "Everyone runs after the ball" and the next practice works on finding space.

Three steps

Tell it what you see. New to coaching? Say "not sure yet".

No coaching words needed. Pick what looks familiar, or say it your way, and Bibs On builds the practice around it.

What do you see when they play?

  • Not sure yet
  • Everyone runs after the ball
  • They pass it straight to the other team
  • They watch the ball, not where to go
  • Nobody gets back to help
  • Scared to shoot or try a skill
  • Some never touch the ball

Questions coaches ask

What if fewer show up than I planned for?

Change the number on the plan and Bibs On offers to rebuild it for the new count. Rebuilding for the players who came is free, once for each practice; changing anything else uses one of your free practices. A single drill does not use a practice, and three a month are free.

What ages does Bibs On cover?

Every year group from U5 to U18, plus an Adult option for open-age and women's adult teams. For youth ages, heading limits and game formats follow the guidance for the exact year group. Adult teams get 11v11 and a size 5 ball. Bibs On is not affiliated with or approved by any governing body.

How do I cancel Pro?

If you have Pro on the website, open Account and tap Cancel Pro. If you pay in the iPhone or Android app, cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for. Cancel during your free days on the website and you are not charged.

How do I plan a practice for my team?

Choose "A team", then pick what you see when they play, or "Not sure yet". Next come the age group and how many are coming, then how long you have and the space. Every drill is drawn for that number.

Soccer practice plans by age

Can I plan a 1-on-1 practice, or practice my own child?

Yes, on every plan. Choose one to three players and say what each one needs, like a weaker left foot or being braver in the tackle, or pick one aim such as passing for all of them. You play in, and each activity says whether you feed, keep goal or defend, and how hard to try. With Pro you can save the players you coach every week, with their notes.

1-on-1 soccer practice plans

Can I get one drill instead of a whole practice?

Yes. Say what to work on, the age group, how many are coming and what equipment you have. Bibs On sets out one drill for that group.

Soccer drills for kids

Is the team sheet free?

Yes, and you don't need an account. Paste your players and pick the format, and it shares the minutes with goalkeepers taking turns. Send the parents the link. If you change it on the day, the same link updates.
